First Stop encounters the homeless where they are, connects them to critical services and support, and empowers them toward independent sustainable living. We exist not to just serve the homeless and make them more comfortable, but to help them out of homelessness.
Just as the United States became the first country to successfully land on the moon in the 1960s, so does First Stop aim to being the first place the homeless turn to when taking one giant leap toward a better quality of life. An impossible mission becomes possible with the right resources, teamwork, and determination.
We invite you to join us for our “One Giant Leap” fundraising event on Tuesday, October 19 at 5:00 PM at the Davidson Center.
Our newest fundraising campaign “A New Day at First Stop” is about supporting Huntsville’s development with expanded facilities, resources and programs to assist our growing number of homeless clients secure independent, sustainable housing.
We have plans to expand our Case Management with a new facility on campus with ample room for offices and meeting spaces. The existing Case Management area will be repurposed to support the new Enrichment Program launching soon.

The “Why” Behind What We Do Our Day Center provides meals, showers, access…
We have a different approach to donations and camp visitation. We make sure to only take the right items to camps, and we only allow certain people to take items to them.
