First Stop provides hospitality to the homeless citizens of Huntsville by

  • Weekly visits to homeless camps to build relationships and provide basic supplies 
  • Friendly service of meals, mail, showers, and laundry in the First Stop Day Center 
  • Encouraging participation in enrichment classes for independent life skills and job readiness 
  • Professional Case Management developing personalized paths to sustainable independent living  


Teams visit camps to:

  • Develop Relationships
  • Provide Essential Needs
  • Encourage Use of First Stop services 


Relationships are formed as First Stop Staff & Volunteers offer:

  • Breakfast & Lunch 
  • Shower & Laundry Facilities
  • Transportation 
  • Health assessments 


In-center classes are available for clients to learn: 

  • Healthy Home & Life Skills
  • Employment Readiness
  • Money Management
  • Drug/Alcohol Recovery Support 


Case managers encourage First Stop Clients to:

  • Set personal goals 
  • Obtain ID & legal documents 
  • Participate in enrichment classes 
  • Seek sustainable income 
  • Achieve requirements for sustainable housing
